5G Connectivity in 2019

A lot of YouTubers have said that 2019 is the year of 5G technology. I can see that many companies are racing furiously over who can make the best 5G tech, but in my opinion, 5G still has a long way to go. According to Dave2D, although super-fast internet speeds and lower latency is a big plus, 5G will have large range issues. Due to its much shorter wavelength, the 5G signal strength can be easily affected by other objects, and even weather like rain for fog. In order for 5G to actually be usable, the companies would need to flood cities with cell towers. The downside with that, though, is that the towers need to be as common as a streetlight and that will produce unsafe amounts of EMF radiation. In 2019, a company can create a phone that can use 5G technology, but it won’t be true 5G.
