In AMD’s CES keynote today, I, with probably many others, was very disappointed when Dr. Su did not disclose the specs of Zen 2. However, as many people in the subreddit r/AMD have pointed out, Zen 2 pretty much confirmed at this point to have 8×2 cores (for a total of 16) on the naked die Dr. Su showed off today. Revealing the specs of Zen 2 would confirm it for people who aren’t following this subreddit and would most likely cut into the sales of Threadripper right now.
Basically, we know that because of the possibility of Zen 2 competing with Threadripper, AMD did not disclose the exact specs of Zen 2 today.
Zen 2 will be a monster.
