Huawei P20 Pro Review

Huawei is quite a controversial company. Many Americans fear the possibility of Huawei installing software that will allow the Chinese government to spy on them, but nevertheless, when I saw the Huawei P20 Pro being released, I bought one myself. I’ve used it since May of 2018 and I think that now is the time for me to review it.

Huawei phones are strong in two aspects: The battery life and the camera performance. I was not let down by either. I’ve taken photos that have made my family members (who all use Apple devices) envious. In addition, I can spend an entire day on my phone at school and easily return with over 50% battery capacity left. Personally, I found the notch to be unobtrusive but I also felt that the sole purpose of the home button was for the fingerprint sensor. I would have been happier if Huawei replaced the home button with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the screen. The screen was bright and vibrant but it also lacked an oleophobic coating (a coating that repels oils) making it a fingerprint magnet. Otherwise, I really enjoy my phone and I intend to keep it for years to come.
