8K Displays in 2019

8K displays have been featured in multiple different tech conferences the past year, such as CES 2018 and Computex 2018. I expect 2019 to be a continuation of this. However, there is going to be a very, very long wait until 8K finally becomes mainstream. In fact, majority of consumers are still adjusting to 4K displays and 1080P displays are still common on store shelves. 8K displays remain as a very high-end niche for people who can even afford these displays and are willing to compromise on better color accuracy or higher refresh rates. The upside is that technology is starting to mature and 8K displays can only improve in the long run. Prices will start to drop and less compromises will be made as 8K displays start to become more widely accepted.
